My unit that is the HP Omen 15-dc0094TX is a great gaming laptop for its price. Lets get into why this laptop is a tameable beast at its price.

Pricing
This laptop is the competition for its price, just sheer 900 USD for the GTX 1050 variant, i7-7700HQ with a staggering four cores and eight threads clocked at 2.80 GHz base, 3.80 GHz turbo. Thats actually darn impressive for a laptop at this specs.

Specs
The unit that I got was the GTX 1050 variant, the i7-7700HQ processor, 8GB of single channel ram, a 128GB NVMe SSD (Primary Boot Drive) and 1TB HGST HDD. The i7-7700HQ did an amazing job of taming the GTX 1050 and delivering maximum performance from the card.

Thermals
This Omen 15 handles the 45W i7-7700HQ and 75W GTX 1050 pretty well. The average thermals dont go beyond 80 ° Celsius and the fans are loud. But considering this laptop has to handle with the 120W TDP, I wont complain about the fans. Only thing to note is that the thermal paste that HP provides has to be changed after a few years especially on the cpu side. I had the cpu almost spiking at 92° Celsius which was no good for the unit. Considering a fresh thermal repaste in long term is not a bad idea.

I/O Selection
This unit is has a fairly equipped I/O ports. 3 USB Type-A, 1 USB Type-C (No ThunderBolt), 1 HDMI and a SD Card Reader.

Conclusion
The HP Omen is a great gaming laptop for cheap, it might have some weakness in the long term but thats how things work, one cant last forever. Signing out, Sudeep.
